Patrick Zierten EMBA, MA
Program Director

Patrick has been working with individuals and families struggling with substance misuse for 12 years. During that time he was a counsellor, Program Manager and Executive Director for a number of treatment and rehab facilities.

He brings his personal experience and a wealth of addiction recovery knowledge to this office. He prides himself in remaining open minded and aware of all the latest addiction related research. If you have a question…he will have or find the answer.

He is a passionate speaker and has spoken at a number of conferences, rehab centers and community information workshops. He is the author and presenter of papers on "Addiction; a Spiritual Malady" and "Addiction Treatment in the Geriatric Community".



Dr. Christan Rucker, MD ASAM
Addiction and Pain Specialist

Dr. Christian Rucker has practiced family medicine since 1993 and addiction medicine since 1998.

In his practice of addiction medicine he focuses on treatment of chronic pain, especially pain syndromes with dependence and addiction features.

As the physician for the Edgewood Vancouver Addiction Services Team, he provides consultations, independent assessments, third party assessments and reviews, case management, monitoring, methadone maintenance and general medical and psychiatric care. Additionally, he provides addiction medicine and pain management care in complicated cases and is a consultant in addiction medicine for the (Chemical Dependency Resource Team) at Vancouver General Hospital (including the UBC Hospital and GF Strong Rehabilitation Center) since 1998.



Nelson Sacristan MA
Senior Counsellor

Nelson holds a Masters in Counseling Psychology. He has been working in the addictions field for 15 years. Nelson sees his role as helping our patients to confront their addiction's symptoms and facilitate discovery of their inner strengths and integrity to overcome their addiction.
